Cult and Exhibition Value
Origami is used as an example to visually explain Cult Value and Exhibition Value described in Walter Benjamin’s written piece titled “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction. There are two origami folded pieces which represent the two types of value. The Cult Value is represented in the simple fold that focuses on the traditional use and purposes of origami. The more complexed fold symbolize the Exhibition Value of origami and how technology has evolved this ancient art to be useful in current society.
