New Pahoa Red

New Pahoa Red

A Japanese stitched book designed based on an interview with one of the few anthurium farmers that helped save the industry in Hawaii. Stanley Oishi developed the breed, “New Pahoa Red”, that was resistant to the blight disease which almost wiped out the anthurium farms in Hawaii. It contains his personal handwriting and images that parallel his life story to the life stages of an anthurium.
